Directions
- Drain and press the tofu for about an hour to remove excess moisture.
- Slice the tofu as thinly as possible for optimal texture.
- In a ziptop bag, mix tomato paste, maple syrup, soy sauce, liquid smoke, and water.
- Add the tofu slices, remove as much air as possible, and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes or up to overnight. Alternatively, simmer the tofu in the marinade for 15-20 minutes over medium-low heat.
