Ingredients

  • Bacon

    Raw, cured pork

    1 strip or 12g

  • Cabbage

    Savoy, raw

    1 cup, shredded or 70g

  • Butter

    Unsalted

    1 tsp or 5g

  • Egg

    Whole, fresh eggs

    1 medium or 44g

Directions

  1. Heat a pan with a lid over medium heat and add the bacon. Cook until browned and crispy, about 5 to 6 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
  2. Leave a small amount of the bacon grease in the pan, then add the cabbage. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, then add a small amount of water and cover the pan with a lid. Let the cabbage steam for about 2 to 3 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the cabbage is tender.
  3. Crumble the cooked bacon back into the pan with the cabbage and stir to combine. Transfer to a plate.
  4. Heat the butter in the pan and cook the egg to your liking. Serve with cabbage and bacon. Enjoy!
