- Snap stems off of ends of green beans and wash. Steam or blanch green beans in boiling water for about 2 minutes, until bright green. Immediately transfer beans to a bowl of ice water, then drain when cool.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add tomato to pan and sauté until soft, about 2 minutes.
- Add green beans and toss to heat through, being careful not to overcook.
