Brown sugar
¼ cup unpacked or 36g
Vanilla extract
½ tsp or 2g
Directions
- Preheat oven to 250 F.
- Put puffed corn in a large roaster pan (a large aluminum "sterno" pan works well).
- Combine butter, sugar and corn syrup in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes (stir frequently-almost constantly).
- Remove from heat. (add optional vanilla extract and stir in).
- Stir in baking soda. The mixture should become foamy.
- Pour mixture over the puffed corn, stir well to coat pieces and distribute throughout the puffed corn.
- Bake for 45 minutes - stirring every 10 to 15 minutes to coat puffed corn pieces.
- Remove from oven and stir pieces 2 or 3 times while cooling.
