Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 F.
  2. Put puffed corn in a large roaster pan (a large aluminum "sterno" pan works well).
  3. Combine butter, sugar and corn syrup in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes (stir frequently-almost constantly).
  4. Remove from heat. (add optional vanilla extract and stir in).
  5. Stir in baking soda. The mixture should become foamy.
  6. Pour mixture over the puffed corn, stir well to coat pieces and distribute throughout the puffed corn.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes - stirring every 10 to 15 minutes to coat puffed corn pieces.
  8. Remove from oven and stir pieces 2 or 3 times while cooling.
  9. ENJOY!
