  1. Whisk together soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, ginger, and garlic until the honey dissolves. Reserve 4 tablespoons (for original recipe, reserve 1 tablespoon for each serving being prepared) of the marinade in a separate bowl, then place the salmon fillets, skin-side up, in the marinade. Marinate for at least 10 minutes, preferably 30.
  2. Preheat the broiler or grill to high.
  3. Heat water in a medium skillet over high heat and bring to a boil. Add bok choy, cover, and steam until almost tender, about 4 minutes. Add the reserved marinade, toss to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes to reduce excess liquid. Remove from heat.
  4. Place the salmon under the broiler, skin-side down, and broil without turning until the exterior is well-caramelized and the fish is just cooked through, 7-10 minutes depending on thickness and distance from the broiler.
  5. Arrange the bok choy on plates and top with the salmon fillets.
