Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a doughnut pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas and mix with the egg, applesauce, and vanilla extract. In another bowl, combine the flours, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
- Spoon approximately 1/3 cup of batter into each doughnut pan cup. Bake for 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
- To make the glaze, mix the cream cheese and sugar in a shallow bowl, then stir in the milk until smooth.
- Dip the tops of the cooled doughnuts in the glaze and place them back on the wire rack. Sprinkle each doughnut with 1 teaspoon of walnuts. Enjoy!
