  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook until they float to the surface. Remove and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and cook the diced ham until lightly browned. Remove the ham and set aside.
  4. Add shallots, garlic, and cream to the skillet. Simmer until the mixture is reduced by a third, then stir in Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the gnocchi, half of the peas, and the ham back to the skillet. Simmer for 1 minute, then transfer to a baking dish. Bake for 18-20 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from the oven, top with remaining peas and fresh basil. Serve immediately.
