  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add a generous amount of salt, and cook the gnocchi until they float to the surface. Remove and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and cook the diced ham. Remove the ham and set aside.
  4. Add shallots, garlic, and cream to the skillet, simmer until reduced by a third, then stir in Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the gnocchi, half the peas, and the ham back to the skillet. Simmer for 1 minute, then transfer to a baking dish. Bake for 18-20 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from oven, top with remaining peas and fresh basil. Serve immediately.
