- Preheat broiler to high.
- Combine 1 teaspoon of the cumin, ½ teaspoon salt, and cayenne pepper in a small dish. Sprinkle over the steak.
- Spray a broiler pan with cooking spray. Place the seasoned flank steak on the pan and broil for about 10 minutes, turning once, to desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing diagonally across the grain.
- Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and jalapeno, cooking for 1 minute. Add the remaining cumin and salt, along with the tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes soften, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cilantro. Serve with the steak.
