  1. In a bowl wash the red lentils, rinse a few times with cold water, can also be soaked overnight to make cooking them quicker.
  2. In a pan place the red lentils and fill up to the top with water, add the chilli powder, salt, dried coriander, turmeric, garam masala, mix thoroughly and leave to boil on a medium heat for around 40 minutes gently stirring every 5-10 minutes.
  3. In a heated pan melt the better, and fry off the garlic and tomatoes until golden brown.
  4. Add the fried garlic and tomatoes to the dhal pan and mix thoroughly. Add the coriander and leave to simmer for a further 5-10 mins, serve with rice, chappati or on its own as a soup, ENJOY!
