- Preheat oven to 350°F (375°-400° if at high altitude - like Denver, CO)
- Cream butter and sugar together
- Add in the flour 1/2 at a time until it all comes together into a dough.
- Separate the dough into 4 balls, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour.
- Roll out dough, working with one ball at a time, until about 1/4" thick and cut with cookie cutters. (Leave the remaining balls of dough covered while you work so they don't dry out) Using the back of a spoon or your thumb, press dents into the middle of each cookie.
- Place cookies on an un-greased baking sheet and fill each indentation with about 1/4 tsp of jam
- Bake in oven for 20 - 25 minutes (Roughly 23 minutes works if at Denver, CO altitude) or until cookies reach your desired color. They will be pale.
- Upon removing from the oven, place cookies onto cooling racks.
- Once cooled - serve.
