  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the shrimp to the pot and cook 1-2 minutes per side until cooked through, remove and set aside.
  3. Add the butter to the pot. Add the onion to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until softened but not browned. Add in the turnips, garlic, and spices and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook 15 minutes until the turnip is tender.
  5. Use an immersion blender to blend the soup in the pot. Alternatively, blend soup in blender carefully and return to pot.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Top with crumbled bacon, shrimp, and chives. Serve immediately and enjoy!
