Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Uncover and cook for an additional 2 to 4 minutes, or until the liquid is nearly evaporated. Add cream and cook for 4 more minutes, or until thickened.
  3. Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and cracked pepper.
