- Chop the broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Crush peanuts.
- Fill a pot with 2 inches of water and bring to a boil. Place the chopped broccoli in a steamer basket and set it over the boiling water. Steam for 4-5 minutes, or until the stems are just tender.
- Transfer the steamed broccoli to a platter.
- Discard the water in the pot. Add the butter, soy sauce, five-spice powder, and 2 teaspoons of water to the pot. Place the pot over medium-low heat.
- Stir until the butter has melted.
- Drizzle the butter mixture over the steamed broccoli.
- Top the broccoli with the chopped peanuts and serve.
