- In a large pot over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Add the shrimp to the pot and cook 1-2 minutes per side until cooked through, remove and set aside.
- Add the butter to the pot. Add the onion to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until softened but not browned. Add in the turnips, garlic, and spices and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook 15 minutes until the turnip is tender.
- Use an immersion blender to blend the soup in the pot. Alternatively, blend soup in blender carefully and return to pot.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Top with crumbled bacon, shrimp, and chives. Serve immediately and enjoy!
