  1. Melt butter over medium-high heat. Add sugar and stir with wooden spoon until dissolved, 1-2 minutes. Whisk in Grand Marnier, cook 1-2 minutes more. Remove from heat. In medium bowl whisk egg until frothy. Stir 1/4 cup mixture into egg, then add that back to Grand Marnier mixture. Return pad to low heat and cook, whisking constantly, until mixture begins to thicken, 3 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk until sauce is thick. Sprinkle nutmeg over pudding, serve with sauce over top or on side.
